Since earning her doctorate in Educational Research Methodologies in 1994 from the University of North Dakota, Dr. Vannatta has been actively engaged in program evaluation across a variety of disciplines (teacher education, educational technology integration, mental health services, and career development). Currently a Distinguished Teaching Professor in Assessment, Research, and Statistics, Dr. Vannatta teaches graduate courses in introductory and advanced quantitative methods at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). She mentors students in three doctoral programs: Leadership Studies, Higher Education Administration, and Organizational Change & Development. As the Director of the Center of Assessment and Evaluation at BGSU, she was lead evaluator on numerous federal and state grants. In addition, Dr. Vannatta has obtained as Principal Investigator over $2.5 million in external grant funding. Her areas of expertise are survey development, educational assessment, and measurement. Dr. Vannatta has been a resident of Bowling Green, Ohio for over 27 years. She has five children, three grandchildren, a very cool dog name Ole, and two crazy cats, Bito and Tommy. When not completing some home renovation project, she enjoys her time outdoors.
